CyberPulse reported a claim that files linked to State Bank of India (SBI) had been released, but said it had not verified the data, leaving any customer impact unknown.

In an Oct. 16 post, the cybersecurity account said an actor named Siriusim claimed to have released 375,000 CSV rows and 2,722 PDF documents. The number of rows does not establish how many customers or accounts, if any, were affected.

CyberPulse described the purported material as including personal details, loan applications and supporting documents, and account-opening applications. It said the alleged data’s authenticity, origin and extent were unverified.

India Today reported that Siriusim posted four documents presented as sample customer records. The outlet said it could not authenticate the claimed breach.

CyberPulse said genuine files of that kind could put customers at risk of identity theft, targeted phishing and fraudulent loan applications. The Economic Times reported that SBI had not replied to its email by the time it published its story on Oct. 20.
