DZ BANK's meinKrypto service included Cardano (ADA) among four crypto assets at launch, giving German cooperative banks a route to offer trading and custody through the VR Banking App.

In its Jan. 12, 2026, announcement, DZ BANK named Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH) and Litecoin (LTC) as the other assets in the lineup. The announcement also said DZ BANK had received its own authorization under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR) for crypto trading.

Each cooperative bank makes its own decision about offering meinKrypto. Before customers can use meinKrypto, a cooperative bank must receive its MiCAR notification from Germany's Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) and implement the platform, DZ BANK said. The wallet is integrated into the VR Banking App, but that integration does not mean every cooperative bank offers the service.

DZ BANK cited a September 2025 Genoverband survey in which more than one-third of cooperative banks said they planned to introduce the solution in the coming months.

DZ BANK and Atruvia developed the wallet. Boerse Stuttgart Digital handles custody, while EUWAX AG executes trades. DZ BANK describes meinKrypto as a self-directed investment service, separate from participating banks' retail investment advice.
