Dabur India Limited’s board approved Herjit Singh Bhalla, the company’s Chief Executive Officer-India Business, as an additional and whole-time director for five years, setting leadership responsibilities ahead of Global CEO Mohit Malhotra’s exit.
The board made its decision Wednesday, Nov. 4, with Bhalla’s term scheduled to begin Nov. 14. Malhotra’s resignation as Global CEO and whole-time director takes effect Friday, Nov. 13. The appointment depends on regulatory approvals and a shareholder vote by postal ballot.
Dabur said Bhalla will continue to lead the India business growth agenda. P. D. Narang, an existing whole-time director, will provide strategic guidance at group level and oversee international business. The company said the division of responsibilities is intended to clarify roles and support continuity.
Dabur’s leadership page says Malhotra joined the company in 1994 and became CEO in April 2019. His resignation letter says he has accepted an overseas leadership role starting Nov. 16, but does not identify the employer. The Nov. 4 filing names no successor to the Global CEO position.
Bhalla joined Dabur earlier in 2026, and the company says his career spans more than 25 years. His listed roles include global leadership positions at The Hershey Company and METRO Cash & Carry India; his tenure at Unilever exceeded 16 years. Dabur records a B.Com (Hons.) from Delhi University in 1997 and an MBA from MDI Gurugram in 2000.
Dabur said it will share the postal-ballot process and timetable later.
