AMC Entertainment and Sony Pictures will launch a non-fungible token (NFT) project to reward those who made advance purchases of opening-day tickets for the new Spider-Man movie, "No Way Home."
There would be 100 designs in over 86,000 digital assets on the WAX blockchain to be given to the first movie ticket purchasers in all American locations.
The initiative by the American movie theater company is for rewarding loyalty as the NFT is only available to AMC Investor Connect group members.
AMC Investor Connect members must be part of AMC Stubs, a rewards scheme where they pay $15 per year and gain access to a point-earning system exchanging the points for exclusive perks and prizes.
AMC CEO Adam Aron revealed that AMC Theatres guests and AMC Entertainment shareholders have been asking them to get into the NFTs.
