Dogecoin Liquidations Surge as DOGE Bulls Face Heavy Losses

Dogecoin Liquidations Surge as DOGE Bulls Face Heavy Losses.

Dogecoin (DOGE) traders are facing mounting losses as a broader cryptocurrency market selloff triggers significant liquidations, with bullish positions taking the biggest hit. Recent data reveals a sharp imbalance between long and short liquidations, highlighting growing pressure on leveraged DOGE investors.

According to CoinGlass, total Dogecoin liquidations reached $7.82 million, with long positions accounting for $7.32 million compared to just $503,630 in short liquidations. The figures represent a staggering 1,453% imbalance, reflecting the widespread liquidation of traders betting on a price recovery.

The surge in DOGE liquidations comes as the meme cryptocurrency struggles to maintain momentum amid declining market sentiment. At the time of reporting, Dogecoin traded at $0.0873, falling 1.26% over the previous 24 hours and 7.26% over the past week.

DOGE has experienced four consecutive days of losses after encountering resistance near $0.097 on October 4. Selling pressure intensified on Wednesday, when the cryptocurrency recorded a 5.41% daily decline.

Despite expectations of a potential rebound, Dogecoin continued sliding, forcing leveraged bullish traders to close their positions. The cryptocurrency briefly dropped below its 50-day moving average of $0.0892 and 200-day moving average of $0.087, reaching an intraday low of $0.0855 early Thursday.

Meanwhile, bearish traders have benefited from the downturn. Blockchain analytics platform Lookonchain identified a trader known as "0xdd6a" who opened leveraged short positions across Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Dogecoin on the Aster trading platform.

The trader's combined positions totaled approximately $26.5 million, generating $586,000 in unrealized profits. A 20x leveraged short involving 48.37 million DOGE, valued at $4.24 million, contributed roughly $224,000 to those gains.

Adding to market concerns, blockchain tracking service Whale Alert reported a transfer of 304,709,765 DOGE, worth approximately $27.05 million, from an unidentified wallet to cryptocurrency exchange Binance.

Although exchange transfers do not necessarily indicate immediate selling, the substantial movement has attracted attention amid persistent downward pressure.

With Dogecoin trading near critical technical levels, investors are closely monitoring liquidation activity, large wallet transfers, and broader crypto market trends for signs of stabilization or further declines.
