LAS VEGAS, Jan. 05, 2017 -- Sharecare, the digital health company helping people manage all their health in one place, is a featured virtual reality experience at CES 2017 in the HTC VIVE™ VR Showcase. Opening today in the Wynn's Alsace Ballroom, the Vive showcase highlights demos across the VR ecosystem in one-hour blocks for press through Saturday, January 7th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
By utilizing virtual, augmented and mixed reality, Sharecare is leading the visual health revolution, empowering people at all points in the healthcare ecosystem to better communicate and understand medical diagnoses, treatments and patient journeys. As part of the Vive showcase, on Friday, January 6, at 9:00 a.m. PST, Sharecare co-founder and world-renowned cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz will demonstrate Sharecare’s immersive, real-time simulation of the human body available for HTC VIVE.
“While VR currently is used only in niche areas of healthcare, it offers groundbreaking opportunities for people to more actively engage in and understand their own health – and that of their loved ones,” said Dr. Oz. “However, if we are to use VR to make a transformative impact on healthcare as we know it, we must aggressively explore initiatives that will push the notion of visual health beyond simply early technology adopters and more broadly to the masses – and that’s why we’re here at CES 2017.”
While at the Vive showcase, Dr. Oz also will discuss how Sharecare is offering its partners–from educational institutions to medical device manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies, and providers–ways to maximize opportunities to obtain unprecedented visual context to discuss healthy physiology, disease and treatment.
