Dubai’s First Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum met Standard Chartered CEO Bill Winters on Thursday to discuss the emirate’s goal of joining the world’s top four financial centers.
Writing on X, Maktoum said the talk ranged from global banking’s future to new openings for the sector. He described the UAE’s relationship with Standard Chartered, which spans more than 60 years, as a basis for expanding ties with major financial institutions.
Maktoum connected the target with Dubai Economic Agenda D33. He said Dubai would pursue the ranking through regulatory flexibility and digital innovation, alongside private-sector ties within the city and across regional and international markets.
