The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and BSE Ltd. have 16 weekday trading holidays on their 2026 schedules, with the Oct. 20 Dussehra closure marking the 13th and three more remaining.

Each exchange’s original annual calendar listed 15 weekday holidays. The NSE later issued an addendum, and BSE published a separate notice, adding Jan. 15, 2026, because of municipal corporation elections in Maharashtra. Including that date brings the total to 16 for each exchange.

The NSE calendar lists Oct. 20 as a holiday for its capital-market segment. BSE’s notice lists a holiday for its equity and equity-derivatives segments. Both calendars give Dussehra as the reason for the closure.

The next full-day holidays on the exchanges’ calendars are Nov. 10 for Diwali-Balipratipada, Nov. 24 for Prakash Gurpurb Sri Guru Nanak Dev and Dec. 25 for Christmas.

The exchanges have also scheduled a Muhurat Trading session for Nov. 8, on Diwali Laxmi Pujan. Their calendars say the session hours will be announced separately.
