SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 19, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Edgewater Networks, Inc. announced today that it has added the EdgeMarc 4808 multi-service gateway to its award-winning product line, further strengthening the delivery of its Network Edge Orchestration offering. The EdgeMarc 4808 enables service providers to deliver a single edge device that adapts to an end user's changing needs, allowing transitions from legacy technologies to IP-based solutions such as SIP trunking, Hosted PBX and Unified Communications.
The EdgeMarc 4808 provides dual WAN interfaces for both Ethernet and optical, enabling it to operate as an optical termination device. The EdgeMarc 4808 is optimized to support the demanding needs of enterprises with 1Gb/sec symmetric WAN connections with up to 500 concurrent calls.
"The EdgeMarc 4808 closes a real technology gap for our customers as they move SMBs and Enterprises from legacy services to IP," said Dave G. Norman, CEO at Edgewater Networks, Inc.
The EdgeMarc 4808 provides users with:
- A future proof design that reduces capital expenses by supporting TDM and IP-based technologies and symmetric data rates up to 1GB/sec
- Support for WAN link redundancy and PSTN fail-over to ensure business continuity
- Seamless integration with Edgewater Networks' EdgeView Service Control Center for simplified management and performance insights that reduce operational expenses and elevate the customer experience
- SIP trunking certification with major IP PBX vendors to shorten customer installation times with easy configurations
"The EdgeMarc 4808 is a great extension of our existing enterprise session border controller (ESBC) portfolio, which is known for delivering security and quality of service (QoS) capabilities," said Brian Gregory, Sr. Director of Product Management at Edgewater Networks. "Adding in PSTN gateway functionality to support PRI and analog trunks gives our customers a way to bridge legacy with the latest technology without a large investment."
