StockEdge data cited by ETMarkets placed eight Indian stocks below their reported 200-day moving averages at the Oct. 19 close, while the Nifty 50 fell 1.11%.
The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) put the benchmark at 22,888.95, down 257.20 points. The moving-average figures came from StockEdge data cited by ETMarkets; exchange and price records show the closing prices.
Vodafone Idea had the narrowest reported gap: its NSE close of ₹12.28 was ₹0.02 below the ₹12.30 average. BSE Limited finished at ₹3,336, or ₹2.40 below its reported ₹3,338.40 level. Titan Company closed at ₹4,424.20 against a reported ₹4,432.61 average.
Axis Bank ended at ₹1,236 versus a reported ₹1,285.53 average. Bajaj Finance closed at ₹957.35 against ₹974.58. The two financial stocks joined the exchange operator among the eight shares identified in the scan.
The other names were Pidilite Industries, at ₹1,482.60 against a reported ₹1,500.61 average; Bharti Airtel, at ₹1,875.20 against ₹1,895.53; and Hitachi Energy India, at ₹28,730 against ₹29,027.28. The scan does not establish a common cause for the moves across those businesses.
Vodafone Idea’s BSE closing price was ₹12.34, compared with ₹12.28 on the NSE. That difference exceeds the ₹0.02 gap between its NSE close and the reported StockEdge average, making the trading venue material to that comparison.
A 200-day moving average summarizes prices across a rolling period and is used to gauge a longer-term trend. Calculations can differ: ReturnScreener put BSE’s Oct. 19 average at ₹3,365, still above its ₹3,336 close. ReturnScreener’s figures also place Hitachi Energy India below its calculated average before Oct. 19, so the scan does not establish a first crossover that day for every stock.
After an Oct. 20 Dussehra holiday for equities, NSE trading resumed Oct. 21. Closing prices from that session provide the next reading against the moving averages.
