Michigan senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed backed President Donald Trump's push to cut U.S. military aid to Israel and said he was willing to work with the president on the policy.
In an MS NOW interview, El-Sayed said he opposed continuing U.S. subsidies for Israel's military, Anadolu Agency reported.
El-Sayed had also endorsed Trump's position in an earlier NPR interview. EconoTimes previously reported El-Sayed's support for Trump's proposed aid cut.
The U.S.-Israel aid arrangement provides $3.8 billion annually through 2028, NPR reported. Trump has announced plans to end the assistance by year-end, NPR also reported.
