‘Empire’ season 3’s episode 12, titled “Strange Bedfellows,” will follow Angelo as he makes a shocking discovery about Cookie that could ruin their relationship as well as his chances of becoming the mayor. Meanwhile, Anika is forced to make a life-altering decision.
The synopsis for “Strange Bedfellows” posted on TV Guide reads, “Angelo (guest star Taye Diggs) makes an unsettling discovery and is concerned that Cookie's (Taraji P. Henson) past isn't in the past and will hurt his chances of becoming the mayor.
Meanwhile, Anika (Grace Gealey) is faced with a life-changing decision after Tariq (Morocco Omari) reveals what he is really after. In other events, Hakeem's (Bryshere Y. Gray) 21st birthday party takes an unexpected turn.”
The upcoming episode will feature Cookie struggling to deal with ghosts from her past as Angelo makes a discovery about her that could hurt their relationship as well as his odds of becoming the mayor. The promo opens to Cookie looking worried that Anika may still be trying to take her down and exposing her secrets. In the scene, Lucious (Terrence Howard) tells her, “Who knows what she overheard?”
In another scene, Angelo asks Cookie, “What does Anika have on you? You gotta tell me, what are you hiding?” It will be interesting to see if Cookie will get the guts to admit things to Angelo before he finds out for himself.
It seems as the Lyons will also go after Anika to keep her quiet. In the final scenes from the promo, Lucious and Cookie corner Anika inside what looks to be a living room. Lucious says, “You got thirty seconds to convince us why we should let you live.”
Before Anika could answer, Leah (Leslie Uggams) enters the room and points a gun at Anika. She then says, “Let your mama do it.”
According to International Business Times, Anika was forced by Tariq into going into a witness protection program so that she could safely testify against Cookie. Meanwhile, Anika will be forced to make a life-altering decision when Tariq reveals his true intentions.
‘Empire’ season 3’s episode 12, titled “Strange Bedfellows,” is scheduled to air on Fox on April 5, 2017. It will be followed by episode 13, titled "My Naked Villainy,” scheduled to be released on April 12.
