The British Medical Association (BMA) says NHS consultants in England plan a two-day walkout from Nov. 25 as a dispute over pay and working conditions remains unresolved.

The union's schedule lists a 6:59 a.m. GMT start on Nov. 25, equivalent to 1:59 a.m. ET. The BMA cited workload and pay concerns and said formal negotiations on pay and working conditions could avert the strike.

Consultants last took strike action in 2023, and their dispute with the government has continued since last year, The Guardian reported. Co-chairs of the BMA's consultants committee said the government had four weeks to prevent the walkout.
