The Tomorrow Is Here Movement said it held a walk across Enugu North Senatorial District on Monday to back Enugu State Gov. Peter Mbah, President Bola Tinubu and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2027 elections.
A press release text hosted by KioskNews described the event as a victory walk and said the district is also known as Nsukka Zone. The movement presented the gathering as support for the state and federal administrations and their candidates.
Chief Tony Okonkwo, the movement’s leader, said organizers had expected about 200 participants but that thousands attended.
The route began in Opi, Nsukka, and went through Orba, Obollo-Afor and Obollo-Eke in Udenu; Ogrute and Enugu-Ezike in Igboeze North; and Ibagwa-Aka in Igboeze South, the statement said. It continued through other communities in Nsukka Local Government Area.
At the rally, Martins Ugwu-Amadieze, chairman of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, said, “Our zone has settled for APC.” The claim that voters in the area have chosen the party is unverified; the statement cited no poll or election result.
The statement also quoted Okonkwo telling participants, “Your presence today shows appreciation for what Governor Peter Mbah and President Bola Tinubu are doing.” He attributed attendance to government initiatives in infrastructure, education, health care, agriculture and transport. His explanation that those initiatives drove turnout is unverified; the statement provided no project records or independent assessment.
On Oct. 30, the Enugu State government said a separate group, Nwanne Di Na Mba Grand Assembly, had endorsed Mbah and Tinubu and pledged support for APC candidates.
