Equifax lowered its 2026 revenue midpoint to $6.661 billion, citing its assessment that a weaker U.S. mortgage market in the closing months of the third quarter will persist through year-end.

The results appeared in an earnings release attached to a Form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Oct. 20. For the quarter ended Sept. 30, revenue increased 10% from a year earlier to $1.6925 billion.

Net income attributable to Equifax rose 32% to $211.7 million, while diluted earnings per share climbed 39% to $1.79. Adjusted earnings per share, a non-GAAP measure, advanced 11% to $2.26.

Sales trends varied across operations. U.S. Mortgage revenue increased 15% year over year; mortgage revenue in Workforce Solutions was unchanged, while U.S. Information Solutions posted 28% growth. International revenue rose 9% on a reported basis and 7% in local currency.

Equifax maintained its forecast for high-single-digit growth in Diversified Markets and expects cost controls and AI efficiencies to recover most of the gross-margin impact from lower mortgage revenue. Begor said higher mortgage rates contributed to the late-quarter softness in U.S. mortgage activity; the company expects that weakness to continue through year-end.

Equifax forecast fourth-quarter revenue of $1.605 billion to $1.635 billion and full-year revenue of $6.646 billion to $6.676 billion. The annual range has a midpoint of $6.661 billion. The company expects full-year adjusted earnings per share of $8.45 to $8.55.

Equifax also reported returning $158 million to shareholders in the third quarter, including $92 million in share repurchases and $66 million in dividends. Separately, it expects the Círculo de Crédito acquisition to close in the fourth quarter, though the release gave no closing date.
