Equities are best performing asset class this week, all trading in green today. This week's performace so far at a glance in table and chart -
S&P 500 -
- US benchmark has clearly broken above resistance around 2080 area, testing waters around 2100, yet to close above such.
- Import price is down -10.5% yearly and -0.3% monthly basis and export price index dropped -6.7% yearly and grew +0.1% m/m improving US's terms of trade.
- SPX500 is currently trading at 2095, up +0.14% today so far. Stronger dollar continue to pose headwinds for S&P. Immediate support lies at 1980, 2040 and resistance 2120, 2164. 2100 is expected to provide psychological resistance.
FTSE -
- FTSE is up around 0.7% today, currently trading at 70065 level. Weaker industrial production putting the rate hike concerns away for now.
- Industrial production slowed in February came at 0.1% m/m. Manufacturing production grew 1.1% y/y against expectation of 1.3% and 1.9% prior. However Manufacturing production grew 0.4% m/m.
- NISER kept GDP estimate steady at 0.6% for fourth quarter.
- Important support lies at 6700 and resistance around current price towards 7100.
DAX -
- DAX moved to new all-time high today, as investors renewed buy trend amid ECB purchase and dropping bond yield.
- Index is trading at 12360, up nearly 1.6% today. Immediate support lies at 12000, 11830, 11750.
EuroStxx50 -
- Stocks across Europe are mixed today.
- Germany is up (+1.60%), France's CAC40 is up (+0.26%), Italy's FTSE MIB is up (+0.14%) and Spain's IBEX is down (-0.38%).
- French industrial production remained flat in February.
- Spain's industrial production grew at 0.6% in February.
- EuroStxx50 is currently trading at 3797, up 0.2% today. Broader trend remains upwards. Support lies at 3635, 3545.
Nikkei -
- Nikkei is the best performer this week, trading once again in green today. Weaker yen is providing support. Price traded above 20000 intraday, however struggling to close above it.
- Nikkei is currently trading at 19958. Immediate support lies at 19630, 18540 and resistance at 19920, 20800.
