- US benchmark is back 2100, after trading 2109. Cash market open in US might exacerbate the move further.
- Initial jobless claims increased to 294K from 281K prior, however continuing claims dropped to 2.268 million from 2.304 million.
- Housing starts improved but lower than expected, 0.926 million, up from prior 0.897 million.
- Building permits dropped in March to 1.039 million from 1.102 million prior.
- S&P 500 is currently trading at 2098, down -0.45% today. Immediate support lies at 1980, 2040 and resistance 2120, 2164. Bids might be large in 2080 area.
FTSE -
- FTSE struggling above 7000 area, after closing at record yesterday. FTSE stands as best performer this week so far.
- Further rise might be on order. Historically speaking UK equity market usually shrugs off election.
- FTSE is currently trading at 7068, down -0.40% today so far. Important support lies at 6950, 6700.
DAX -
- DAX is down today, hot by dears over Greece. Index is back to test the buyers around 12000 level.
- Index is trading at 12028, down nearly 1.6% today. Immediate support lies at 12000, 11830, 11750.
EuroStxx50 -
- Stocks across Europe are in red today as negotiation between Greece and lenders continue to struggle. Fears are up across Europe today, as Greek yields rising at fastest pace since the crisis in 2011/12.
- Germany is down (-1.6%), France's CAC40 is down (-0.6%), Italy's FTSE MIB is down (-1.73%) and Spain's IBEX is down (-1.15%).
- Global trade balance for Italy improved in February to € 3.54 billion from €0.232 billion prior.
- EuroStxx50 is currently trading at 3760, down -0.90% today. Broader trend remains upwards. Support lies at 3635, 3545.
Nikkei -
- Nikkei continued on its third negative day, hit by global sell off. 20000 level posed serious profit booking.
- Nikkei is currently trading at 19790. Immediate support lies at 19630, 18540 and resistance at 20000, 20800.
