Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Friday that the Gaza peace agreement reached in October 2025 was not being implemented, while faulting international bodies for their response to atrocities in Gaza.

Speaking at the opening of TRT World Forum 2026 at the Istanbul Congress Center, Erdoğan cited more than 3,000 attacks and other violations affecting Palestinians in the West Bank during October. The Turkish presidency’s Directorate of Communications published an account of his remarks on Nov. 6.

Erdoğan accused international institutions of remaining passive as atrocities unfolded in Gaza. He invoked Rwanda and Srebrenica while criticizing their response, and said the principle of keeping faith with agreements was not being upheld.

He described global governance mechanisms as inadequate and ineffective in addressing current crises. Erdoğan situated the agreement’s status within what he characterized as a broader structural crisis in international governance.
