Ericsson repurchased 4,109,943 Class B shares for SEK 391.8 million from Oct. 12 to 16, as weekly volume fell from the previous period under its SEK 15 billion program.
The purchases totaled SEK 391,815,021.63 at a weighted average price of SEK 95.3334 per share. Ericsson bought 7,917,288 Class B shares for SEK 746,353,207.57 during Oct. 5-9, at an average price of SEK 94.2688. The latest tally was 3,807,345 shares, or about 48%, lower than the week before, while total spending fell about 47.5%.
Purchases were concentrated in the first two trading days. Ericsson bought 1,856,735 shares for SEK 176,426,588.35 on Oct. 12 and 1,803,208 shares for SEK 170,303,258.28 on Oct. 13. It bought 250,000 shares worth SEK 24,158,575 on Oct. 14, then 100,000 shares on each of Oct. 15 and 16, for SEK 10,432,200 and SEK 10,494,400, respectively.
Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE carried out the transactions on Nasdaq Stockholm for Ericsson. After the purchases, Ericsson held 129,915,894 Class B shares in treasury. The company reported 3,371,351,735 issued shares: 261,755,983 Class A shares and 3,109,595,752 Class B shares.
Ericsson's board authorized the buyback program in April, setting a limit of SEK 15 billion. The program began April 23, 2026, and is due to run through March 31, 2027, at the latest. Ericsson said the program is intended to distribute surplus liquidity and adjust its capital structure. An independent investment firm was assigned to decide when trades would take place.
At the 2027 annual general meeting, the board intends to propose canceling repurchased shares, except those used to meet Ericsson's obligations under share-related incentive programs. The Oct. 19 disclosure gave no reason for the lower weekly purchase volume.
