A new estimate ties model-intelligence gains to less developer-traffic growth across OpenAI, Anthropic and other leading AI labs than it did at the end of 2025.

The estimate now puts traffic growth at 20% per 10-point increase in model intelligence; the comparable late-2025 figure was nearly 69%.

That comparison records a relationship; it does not prove that higher model intelligence drove traffic upward. The measure is developer traffic, not a tally of people who signed up or started using an AI service.
