Ethcore, a new venture built by prominent figures of the Ethereum ecosystem, has announced its flagship blockchain technology suite, Parity – its initial fully-featured, Ethereum-compatible, blockchain implementation.
“Announcing Parity, the world's fastest and lightest Ethereum implementation written in Rust language”, Ethcore Founder, Dr Gavin Wood said.
Wood explained that Parity is a fully compliant Ethereum client built from the ground up for the IoT (Internet of Things) and enterprise environment. It uses the advanced, highly sophisticated hybrid functional language to build a blockchain client which is uniquely high-performance, low-footprint and reliable.
“Parity is the first in a series of scheduled releases which will, over the course of 2016, usher in various optimizations and functionality to make the Ethereum protocol more relevant to both IoT and enterprise”, Wood added.
Ethcore’s website says that while Ethereum brought to the world a next generation blockchain platform, Ethcore has the vision, expertise and spirit to propel this technology and its offspring to become the backbone of future global industry and commerce.
Ethcore has been founded by Dr. Gavin Wood, Co-designer of the Ethereum protocol and the EVM, and Inventor of the Solidity language; Dr. Jutta Steiner, Chief Security Manager, Ethereum, and Co-founder, Provenance; Dr. Aeron Buchanan, Head of Operations, Ethereum; Kenneth Kappler, Communications Manager, Ethereum and TJ Saw, CEO, OxLegal.
“Ethcore will be working with trail-blazing startups and global industry leaders alike to help unleash the immense potential of the Ethereum protocol throughout key verticals such as energy, IoT, finance and asset-tracking”, Wood said.
