Open interest is near its mid-August level, and the aggregate reading does not break out position categories.

Open interest counts the value of derivatives contracts that remain active. The $11.8 billion total aggregates open positions and gives no breakdown of changes by position category.

Coinglass data put Ether options open interest at $6.21 billion in the Oct. 21 snapshot, up from $5.93 billion in the Oct. 20 reading. Calls made up more of both open interest and trading volume in that snapshot, as detailed in EconoTimes' Oct. 21 Ether options report. The options figure is a separate reading from the $11.8 billion derivatives total.
