Short liquidations dominated an Oct. 20 Ether (ETH) tally on three exchanges as Binance spot prices rose 1.26% in an hour, in contrast with a separate Oct. 15 snapshot.
In the hour through 10:02 a.m. ET (14:02 UTC), $8.24 million in short positions were liquidated across Binance, Bybit and OKX. Long liquidations over the same period totaled $240,000.
Binance’s ETH/USDT spot quote moved from $2,389 to $2,419 during that hour, a gain of $30. The 24-hour change at the later reading was 1.12%. Those prices reflect Binance spot trading, while the liquidation tally combines figures from all three exchanges.
The balance was different in a separate Oct. 15 one-hour reading across the same venues: long liquidations totaled $7.13 million, against $520,000 in shorts. Ether’s 5.86% decline reported in that earlier story covered 24 hours, a different period from its one-hour liquidation tally.
