A Societe Generale technical assessment reported by FXStreet puts the euro under pressure against the franc, with 0.9095 francs per euro identified as possible support after the pair’s recent decline.
FXStreet published its report at 4:55 a.m. ET (09:55 UTC) Nov. 3. The outlet said EUR/CHF moved below a short-term upward trend line in October and later traded under its 200-day moving average at 0.9235. The technical assessment was attributed to Societe Generale strategists.
FXStreet said the strategists considered 0.9095 francs per euro a possible support level and viewed 0.9235 to 0.9260 as a zone where a rebound could face resistance. The 200-day average sits at the lower edge of that range. Yahoo Finance’s historical data lists an intraday low of 0.9095 on May 25, 2026.
The European Central Bank’s latest available reference rate before the report was 0.9193 francs per euro on Nov. 2, down from 0.9478 on Sept. 30. EUR/CHF shows how many francs one euro buys, so the lower rate means a euro buys fewer francs and the Swiss currency has strengthened against it.
The ECB publishes reference rates on working days at around 10 a.m. ET (15:00 UTC) and says the figures are informational and may differ from transaction prices. Its official fixing on May 25 was 0.9099 francs per euro, while Yahoo Finance lists 0.9095 as an intraday market low. The records describe different measures: a daily fixing and a market price reached during the session.
In October, Georgette Boele, ABN Amro’s senior FX and oil strategist, told Reuters that concerns about French public finances and election uncertainty in France and Spain had supported the franc. EconoTimes previously covered the franc’s October gains against the euro amid French debt concerns. FXStreet’s Nov. 3 report focused on technical levels and gave no fundamental catalyst for the latest move.
