Gold faces a key technical threshold near $4,065 in a downside scenario attributed by FXStreet to Societe Generale analysts, with lower levels in view if bullion breaks support.
FXStreet reported Oct. 22 that the analysts set short-term resistance at $4,200-$4,225 and initial support at $4,065. It said gold had moved within a narrow band after dipping to roughly $4,065 earlier in October.
The analysis mapped $3,960-$3,940 as the next area if $4,065 gives way, with a projection near $3,830 beyond that. FXStreet gave no time frame for those technical levels.
Historical XAU/USD data from ExchangeRates.org.uk lists an Oct. 7 low of $4,069.22, close to the report’s reference to an early-October dip. For June, ExchangeRates.org.uk records a low of $3,951.542 on June 30, while StatMuse lists $3,942.20 for the month.
The analysts were unnamed, and FXStreet did not link to Societe Generale research, leaving the bank’s outlook attributed through the single outlet.
