The British pound was near $1.34 against the U.S. dollar on Oct. 22 as United Overseas Bank (UOB) strategists saw a possible move toward 1.3440 over one to three weeks, FXStreet reported.

FXStreet attributed the outlook to Quek Ser Leang, UOB's senior technical strategist, and Lee Sue Ann, an economist at the bank. For the 24 hours ahead, their reported range was 1.3370 to 1.3415.

FXStreet said UOB raised its support level to 1.3330 from 1.3300. The outlet put GBP/USD's prior-session range at 1.3369 to 1.3403 and its close at 1.3394, up 0.11%.

FXStreet's summary also described a separate UOB outlook for one to three months that pointed to 1.3480.
