Earlier on, it has been rumored that Facebook’s purported standalone Notifications app will be launched next week. Financial Times reported that the app will publish content from dozens of trusted media and publishing outlets, including Vogue, the Washington Post and CBS.
News about Facebook’s supposedly brand new app surfaced in August, Business Insider reported. Eventually, the rumors gave way to the app getting known as “Notify,” which can be made available via Android and iOS notification interfaces.
ZDNet said the app could very well be Facebook’s latest weapon in its arsenal to completely dominate in the Internet. Through mobile advertising, Facebook is reportedly laying the groundwork in lording over Google in the space.
On the other hand, FT is not so optimistic with Facebook’s new app yet, as business moves such as “Notify” rarely get successful, more so if the target market is new, younger users who are already on popular platforms like Snapchat.
