Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said daily violations of the Gaza ceasefire are undermining trust in the international system and urged humanitarian access and child protection to remain priorities.

Fidan said occupation in Gaza and the West Bank continues without accountability. He argued that the Israel-Palestine conflict can be resolved only through a “just political solution.”

He described Türkiye’s mediation approach as relying on each side’s agreement to engage, trust among participants and a role for all parties. Fidan called for continued talks even when progress is slow or uncertain. He also pointed to Türkiye’s past mediation involving Libya, Russia-Ukraine talks, the Black Sea grain initiative and the Ankara process between Somalia and Ethiopia.

Medical and local sources cited by Anadolu Agency said one Palestinian was killed in a drone strike in southern Gaza on Friday, Oct. 23. EconoTimes previously covered the reported fatal strike.

Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists the ninth Istanbul Mediation Conference for Oct. 23-24 in Istanbul.
