‘Fifty Shades Darker’ lead actors Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are announced as safe along with the cast and crew members following the Bastille Day terror attack in France.
According to People.com, Dornan and Johnson were spotted filming on a beach in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, France, for additional scenes in the third film ‘Fifty Shades Freed’. The pair looked fit and toned in their beach wear – Dornan in blue trunks and Johnson in a tiny yellow bikini – as they sunbathed for what was speculated to be a honeymoon scene. In the photographs, Johnson was already wearing a wedding band suggesting that her character Anastasia Steele may have already tied the knot with Dornan’s Christian Grey.
Dornan’s wife Amelia Warner also joined the pair behind-the-scenes while her husband films the last remaining scenes in France. She even bonded with Johnson as the three took a dip in the sea in between takes. Warner arrived in Vancouver several weeks beforehand to join her husband at work.
Meanwhile, filming on location in the French Riviera may have to be suspended for the weekend following a terror attack in Nice on Thursday night during crowded Bastille Day festivities. According to Fox News, a 25-tonne truck plowed through revelers watching Bastille Day fireworks from along the famous Promenade des Anglais seafront killing more than 80 people and injuring several more others.
The driver, who was shot and killed by police, was identified as a 31-year old French-Tunisian Nice resident. The man also open fired at the crowd as reported by local government chief Christian Estrosi. Estrosi said that they found weapons and explosives in the truck after the driver was killed.
Although no direct perpetrators have claimed responsibility for the tragedy, the media outlet reported that sources linked ISIS to the attack. French president Francois Hollande announced during a televised address on Friday morning that he would extend the nation’s state of emergency by another three months until Oct. 26. Officials described the latest attack as the deadliest one in France since the terror attack in Paris last year.
According to The Mirror, cast and crew of ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ were confirmed to be safe in the aftermath of the terror attack. Producer Dana Brunetti took to social media to update their status by tweeting, “As far as I know everyone from our cast and crew is safe. Thanks for everyone's concern.”
Brunetti followed it up with another Facebook post that read, “From production: 'Production has confirmed that everyone working on location in the south of France is okay. Everyone has been accounted for and is safe and sound.' “Thanks for everyone's messages and concerns. Another sad day for France and the world.””
Original trilogy author E.L. James also wrote, “Just heard about the horrendous events in Nice. Appalling. Thoughts are with the families of the dead and injured.”
‘Fifty Shades Darker’ is an upcoming romantic drama film directed by James Foley and written for the big screen by Niall Leonard. It is scheduled to be released on February 10, 2017 and is the sequel to 2015’s ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’.
