Fission Labs said Thursday, Oct. 15, that it had closed a $10 million Series A led by Pantera Capital to expand eligible holders’ access to capital before the underlying funds’ usual redemption cycles conclude.

Fission said it plans to use the proceeds to increase the liquidity it can provide, support more tokenized private-market and semi-liquid funds, and deepen institutional integrations. The company did not set a capacity target or timetable for those plans.

Fission’s service is designed for permissioned investment products, where eligibility standards, transfer restrictions and compliance rules govern access. The company says putting fund interests on digital rails does not itself shorten redemption timelines or ensure a liquid secondary market. Founder and CEO Jonathan Shaffer said, “Putting funds on-chain is only the beginning.”

Fission’s release named Circle Ventures, Borderless Capital and Ari Rubenstein, CEO of GTS, as additions to its investor base. It described New Form and gumi Cryptos Capital as existing backers.

Centrifuge said in an Aug. 25, 2026, announcement that Fission was providing 24/7 USDC liquidity for four institutional funds on its platform. They are tied to New York Life Investment Management’s high-yield corporate-bond strategy, Apollo’s diversified-credit strategy, and Janus Henderson strategies for AAA collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) and short-duration Treasury securities. Centrifuge said Fission could provide liquidity immediately while settlement with each underlying fund continued on its own schedule.

Fortune reported that the round closed in September. It also quoted Shaffer describing a potential timing difference: a sale that could take about 200 days through other channels might be settled in 90 seconds or less through Fission, for a fee.

Fission said it had processed millions of dollars in transactions but gave no total or period for that figure.
