A four-hour crypto liquidation tally ending Oct. 16 put forced closures at $157 million, with Bitcoin and Ether accounting for nearly half of the reported marketwide amount.

The reported long-side amount was $141 million, about 90% of the four-hour total. A long trade benefits from rising prices; a short trade benefits from falling prices.

The window closed at 1:27 p.m. ET (17:27 UTC). The tally recorded $45.9 million in Bitcoin liquidations and $28.05 million in Ether liquidations.

A separate one-hour tally across Binance, Bybit and OKX on Oct. 15 recorded $46.40 million in long liquidations out of $49.33 million overall.

An earlier EconoTimes report said that reading counted 7,379 liquidation events during the hour ending at 9:55 a.m. ET (13:55 UTC), using public data collected directly from the exchanges.
