France 24 reported that Somalia’s lower house passed a sexual violence bill, as the outlet said the national criminal code continued to rely on a text from 1962.

In Nairobi, France 24 reporter Bastien Renouil met with Sofia Rajab. Rajab is a program manager at Legal Action Worldwide, which France 24 said had sought Somali authorities’ support for the bill.
