France will join next week’s Ukraine discussions in Abu Dhabi, Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said Sunday, adding a firm commitment from Paris as European participation remains disputed.
Barrot told French radio RTL that France would attend but did not name its representative, Reuters reported. He said Europeans “will be well represented.”
U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff said Monday the United States planned to convene Russian and Ukrainian delegations in the Emirati capital on Nov. 10-11. The agenda includes efforts to end the war, security arrangements for the postwar period and steps to ease tensions.
EconoTimes previously reported that Russia described the Abu Dhabi round as trilateral, while the European Union expected a joint delegation at future senior-level discussions. The European Commission had not said whether its officials would attend that round.
