“Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast” for iOS and Android devices has just launched, bringing good news to fans of dark and brooding role playing games and the band “Iron Maiden.” The soft launch for the title was a success, which is not that surprising considering how popular the band the game is based on is, as well as the fact that it is a functional RPG that doesn’t cost a thing.
In terms of actual structure, the game plays much like many popular RPGs in the market. Players get to choose from six choices of classes and the game will take place in four different worlds.
According to VG247, the title also centers on the character “Eddie,” who is searching for pieces of himself. He will do so by scouring the four worlds mentioned.
The game will also feature songs from the legendary metal band that have never been heard anywhere else, so fans are sure to delight in the new experience that comes with playing the game. This is also great for those who have never played RPGs because it might entice at least some of them to fall in love with the genre and gaming in general.
It isn’t just the uninitiated in RPG that will benefit from trying this game out either since those who have never heard of the metal band will finally get to try their songs with the game. If they want to hear more, the game will also allow them to explore other songs from the band’s albums.
As Touch Arcade reports, the game is made by “Roadhouse Games,” and it was announced back in January. Players will take the role of “Eddie,” the undead mascot of the band, who fans of the band will be familiar with. In terms of gameplay, mechanics, playstyle and collectibles, critics who have tried the game so far agree that as free-to-play RPGs go, “Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast” is a cut above the rest.
