French posts mixed bag of numbers; manufacturing superior over service sector

  • French Markit Composite PMI Flash: Composite PMI in France increased to 51 Index Points in May of 2015 from 50.6 Index Points in April of 2015 as reported by the Markit economic.

  • French Markit manufacturing PMI Flash: Manufacturing PMI in France increased to 49.3 in May of 2015 from 48.0 in April of 2015 against forecast at 48.6.

  • French Services PMI Flash: Services PMI in France increased to 51.6 Index Points in May of 2015 from 51.4 Index Points in April of 2015 against forecast at 52.0. This data is based on data collected from a representative panel of around 400 companies based in the French service sector.

  • French GDP growth fastest in last 2 years: The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in France expanded 0.6% in Q1 of 2015 over the previous quarter which is fastest since 2013.

  • Inflation: The inflation rate in France was recorded at 0.10 percent in April of 2015.
France and Italy have been propelling up Euro's growth consistently whereas Greece threats and German's tepid industrial numbers are hindering Euro.
