All five tracked crypto perpetual-futures markets showed lower open interest in Friday's 7 a.m. ET (11:00 UTC) snapshot, with XRP posting the sharpest 24-hour contraction at 15.22%.
Among the other four, Dogecoin (DOGE) fell 12.89% to $190.6 million and Solana (SOL) dropped 12.36% to $806.7 million. Ether (ETH) declined 6.79% to $5.20 billion, while Bitcoin (BTC) had the smallest drop, 4.57%, to $7.41 billion.
Open interest is the reported value of active futures contracts. Long accounts outnumbered short accounts in each market; long-account shares were 74.6% in Ether, 73.9% in Solana, 72.4% in XRP and 70.5% in Dogecoin.
Funding rates were positive across all five markets. Bitcoin's rate was 0.0089% per eight-hour period, or 9.8% annualized. XRP, Solana and Dogecoin each recorded 0.0100% per eight hours, or 10.9% annualized, while Ether was at 0.0005%, or 0.6%. A positive rate charged the long side and credited the short side in every market.
The decline reversed the direction in EconoTimes' Oct. 26 five-market snapshot, when open interest rose across all five assets.
