FxWirePro: GBP/NZD sustains gains as uptrend remains strong

• GBP/NZD firmed on Friday as weaker commodity prices,  inflation worries and fiscal strains weighed on kiwi dollar

• Oil prices eased 1.2% as traders assessed prospects of talks resuming between theUS and Iran after a report that negotiators from both countries were exploring a phased path to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and lift Washington's economic blockade of Tehran.

•A survey showed British consumer confidence unexpectedly struck a more than two-year high this month as households grew more optimistic about their personal finances, adding to recent signs of resilience in the economy.

• Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey said that persistently high ​energy prices would ​make it harder ⁠for the central bank to leave interest rates on hold, underlining a recent shift in tone towards higher borrowing costs.

• Immediate resistance is located at 2.3543(23.6%fib), any close above will push the pair towards 2.3659(23.6%fib).

• Immediate support is seen at 2.3298(38.2%fib) and break below could take the pair towards 2.32164(SMA 20).

Recommendation: Good to buy  around 2.3340, with stop loss of 2.3250 and target price of 2.3400
