ATHENS, Oct. 23 (EconoTimes) — G42 and Greek partners are considering an AI computing facility alongside public-service and life-sciences projects, while the facility's site, capacity and cost remain undisclosed and the initiatives await definitive agreements and applicable regulatory approvals.

G42 and five of its portfolio companies signed agreements with Greek public- and private-sector partners on Oct. 22, the company said. One proposal links Copelouzos Group, Khazna Data Centers and Core42 in work on an AI factory. G42 said the signing took place during an official visit that included the UAE-Greece Business Forum.

Khazna would develop the facility's physical infrastructure. Core42 would supply cloud and AI computing to organizations in finance, telecommunications, shipping and government. G42 has not announced a construction schedule or an allocation of project costs.

Other proposals involve government services and education. Presight will assess how AI analytics could help municipal authorities manage waste and monitor water networks, using synthetic and open datasets. Inception42 is exploring tools for cabinet sessions, monitoring government priorities, preparing officials to work with AI and developing AI tutors. M42 signed a memorandum of understanding with Athens LifeTech Park covering research, genomics, clinical development and links between institutional biobanks.

The parties still need to determine each initiative's scope, structure and timeline. G42 said progress depends on definitive agreements and applicable regulatory approvals. Copelouzos Group CEO Christos Copelouzos said the proposed facility could attract investment and skilled jobs; those are anticipated benefits, not reported outcomes.

Separately, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said Greece had surpassed a €4 billion target for direct investment from the United Arab Emirates under a 2022 cooperation agreement. The Abu Dhabi Media Office put the combined value of 18 memorandums, agreements and commercial partnerships at the UAE-Greece Strategic Forum at €12.75 billion. That is a forum-wide figure, not a separate valuation of G42's projects.
