Gabon lifted its eight-month social media suspension on Saturday, and its regulator held discussions with technology companies about content moderation, Anadolu Agency reported, citing the authority’s account.

The suspension was imposed in February, Anadolu Agency reported. In an earlier report published Feb. 18, the agency said Gabon’s High Authority for Communication (HAC) had cited defamatory and insulting material, false information and concerns about public order, social cohesion, institutions and national security.
