Gate processed $396.4 billion in crypto derivatives trades in September, placing third globally in a CoinDesk Research review that put it close to Bybit by monthly volume.

CoinDesk Research listed Bybit at $395.7 billion, with Binance and OKX ahead of Gate. The review disclosed that Gate supported the research.

Separately, a DefiLlama exchange-table reading put Gate’s net inflows over a rolling 30-day period at $165.24 million. That measure tracks movements through wallets associated with the exchange, rather than the value of derivatives trades.

The figures cover different activities and periods. CoinDesk Research counted trades completed during September, while DefiLlama’s inflow figure changes as its 30-day measurement window moves. The wallet-flow reading therefore does not represent Gate’s September trading volume.
