Global geopolitical Series: Saudi-Israel relation inches closer with purchase of Iron dome

The Saudi-Israel relation dynamics have changed significantly, at least on the surface, as well as publicly, under the supervision of the Trump administration of the United States, which is a close ally to both the countries and to find a common front against their arch-rival in the region; Iran. From all the leaked reports on President Trump’s ‘Deal of the Century’, it was clear that Saudi Arabia remains in favor of the President’s plan as well as his broader approach to the Middle East, which includes recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/iran-saudi-arabia-treason-accusation-muslims-ayatollah-ali-khamenei-donald-trump-jerusalem-israeli-a8163306.html

Now, in a further sign of rapprochement, Saudi Arabia has signaled that it would be purchasing Iron Dome missile defense systems from Israel in the wake of missile attacks by Iran-backed Houthi rebels from Yemeni territory. The decision reportedly came after a trilateral meeting between Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. Saudi- Israel relations have never been better before. Recently, Chief of staff of the Israeli army, General Gadi Eisenkot said that the relationship is reaching such a level that Israel is prepared to share intelligence with Saudi side to counter Iranian influence in the region.
