Oil India Limited said its Godavari-1 appraisal well recorded a daily test peak of 200,000 standard cubic meters of gas, while the filing gives no reserve estimate or commercial start date.

The well struck hydrocarbons at 2,024 to 2,027 meters in the unappraised Matsyapuri formation, within the KG-DSF/GSKW/2018 block. Oil India is the block’s sole operator in the offshore Krishna-Godavari Basin.

Tests on the interval started Oct. 16. Initial readings were about 100,000 standard cubic meters daily; continuous testing later reached 200,000.

The company put condensate production at roughly 170 barrels per day, with a 55.8 API gravity measured at 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Pressure at the wellhead was 1,815 pounds per square inch, and the release mentioned water but did not quantify it.

Oil India said it was preparing to test the next higher zone. The reported peak is a test result; the filing includes no estimate of recoverable reserves or commercial production date.
