Staking yield has paid Golem Foundation’s operating costs since 2023, and the group is now using Ether (ETH) in DeFi strategies to widen its income sources, according to its project page.

The allocation began in the second half of 2026. The foundation started solo staking in June 2023 and says the resulting yield has covered all its operating expenses since.

An October 2026 snapshot showed 3,136 validators holding 100,352 ETH in total. Octant’s cumulative distributions have passed 5,487 ETH, reaching Ethereum builders and the GLM community. Public-goods projects received more than 3,649 ETH within that total.

At first, GLM holders could help decide how part of the staking yield was used. Octant has since developed into an open funding system that other crypto treasuries can use. Golem Foundation plans to consolidate its validator set before the end of 2026.
