SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 03, 2017 -- Today, GoodData announced that it has been rated as a Strong Performer in The Forrester Wave™: Insight Platforms-As-A-Service, Q3 2017, giving it the highest-possible scores in the criteria of Time to Value and Security and Governance, among four other criteria.
Forrester defines an Insight PaaS as “An integrated set of data management, analytics, and insight application development and management components, offered as a platform the enterprise does not own or control” and states that “enterprise architects must consider insight platforms-as-a-service as part of their big data cloud strategy.”
In its 36-criteria evaluation of insight platform-as-a-service (PaaS) providers, Forrester identified the eight most significant players for research, analysis and scoring. The final report “shows how each provider measures up and helps enterprise architecture (EA) professionals make the right choice.”
“We’re honored to participate in Forrester’s Insight PaaS Wave,” said GoodData CEO, Roman Stanek. “I believe that the report is a testimony to the evolution of enterprise cloud data platforms into closed-loop systems of insight and we are proud to play a role in this development with the GoodData Enterprise Insights Platform.”
“GoodData’s excellent structured data management and analytics tools are supplemented by machine learning algorithms,” the report states. “The vendor’s platform also separates logical and physical data, which helps create and manage many contextual views — a handy feature for common customer use cases.” In addition, GoodData received Forrester’s highest rating — 5 out of 5 — in two specific criteria:
Time to Value: GoodData helps customers solve critical business problems and recognize real business value within 8 to 12 weeks of the first use case. In addition, the platform’s closed-loop process leverages the latest in machine learning to continuously close the gap between data capture and actionable insights. “I believe that our customer references played a key role in earning this score for us,” says Stanek, “which shows that they recognize and appreciate the efficiency with which our platform delivers ROI.”
Security and Governance: The GoodData Enterprise Insights Platform received Forrester’s highest score possible in this criterion, which looked at how capable and well-integrated the vendor's tools are for monitoring and securing insight applications and the underlying data. “Security is a constant concern for enterprises, as is the need to comply with an ever-growing list of security-focused regulatory requirements,” notes Stanek. “Most recently, our customers who do business in Europe are concerned about complying with GDPR, and we’re partnering with them every step of the way to ensure that they’re ready.”
GoodData also received the highest possible scores in the criteria of Insight Sharing, Access and Integration; Insight Execution; Customer Needs; and Mindshare.
“I am thrilled with Forrester’s evaluation of GoodData,” said Stanek. “That we were ranked alongside the included tech giants is an incredible validation for me of GoodData’s market positioning and platform, and I believe it is a testament to the hard work, tenacity and talent of our remarkable team.”
Forrester noted that “GoodData’s insights governance framework and insight application life-cycle management features let customers easily build and continuously optimize solutions without extensive code debugging or query tuning.” In addition, GoodData’s SmartApps concept was cited for letting customers “quickly build complex analytics applications using built-in machine learning capabilities.”
