Google Maps on CarPlay now includes Gemini for U.S. drivers, bringing voice-based route planning to the in-car display and allowing spoken reports of traffic disruptions.

During navigation, drivers can tap the Gemini icon on the display. They can search for a destination, then ask for a route that avoids toll roads. Gemini also accepts spoken reports about traffic disruptions.

The feature is available in the United States, and international expansion is underway. No list of participating countries or schedule for wider access has been announced.

Google's Nov. 5, 2025, announcement described conversational navigation in Maps on Android and iOS in places where Gemini is available. The company said Android Auto support would follow. That earlier announcement did not mention CarPlay.
