Anthony Gordon said Barcelona have yet to see his best and promised to become more selfish ahead of Tuesday's Champions League match against Aston Villa, ESPN reported on Nov. 2.

Gordon's comments put his own performances in focus before the European fixture. “I can do a lot more,” he said, offering an assessment of his contribution at Barcelona ahead of the meeting with Villa.

On the other side of that match, Aston Villa's Pau Torres said he relished the prospect of facing Barcelona's Lamine Yamal. Torres identified the opportunity to play against Yamal as something he looked forward to in Tuesday's game.

In England, Arsenal's Noni Madueke said Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister tried to “bait” him into receiving a red card during Arsenal's 1-0 victory at Anfield. Madueke's accusation concerned Mac Allister's conduct during the match between the two clubs.

Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso said the club was finally seeing the best of Romeo Lavia after its victory over Manchester United. Alonso described the midfielder as “in top form” and “in a good place” after his injury problems.

Alonso said Lavia had put those problems behind him. His assessment linked the midfielder's current performances with his recovery from the injuries that had affected him.

Michael Carrick said he had “no concerns” about Lisandro Martinez's commitment to Manchester United. Carrick's comments addressed the defender's commitment to the club, with his assurance coming on the same day as Alonso's assessment of Chelsea's midfielder.

Tottenham's Archie Gray said a trip to Marbella had helped the team's camaraderie. Gray said he was disappointed to come off during the victory over Crystal Palace but was happy to put the team first.

Gray called his teammates his “brothers” and said he was happy to help them secure another three points. His comments combined disappointment at leaving the game with satisfaction at Tottenham's result.

Among confirmed developments away from those comments, Christian Pulisic signed a new contract with AC Milan through 2031, ESPN reported. The United States player's extension was reported on Oct. 30.

Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham became the first Englishman to score 50 goals for the club in its 3-0 victory over Racing Santander on Nov. 1. The milestone came in a win for Jose Mourinho's side.

Lens supporters were banned from buying tickets for the club's Champions League game at Liverpool under an Oct. 27 UEFA disciplinary ruling. The punishment followed fans throwing flares against Brugge.
