GETTYSBURG, Pa., April 13, 2017 -- Graphcom Inc., a full-service communications, branding, marketing and healthcare analytics firm, announces completion of a third party audit attesting to its achievement of the data security requirements of the Service Organization Controls (SOC 2) Type 1 and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
The rigorous examinations were administered by the professional IT assurance and compliance staff at 360 Advanced, a respected national Qualified Security Assessor, HITRUST CSF Assessor and CPA firm based in St. Petersburg, FL. 360 Advanced has clients in 30 U.S. states, Europe, South and Central America and the Pacific Rim.
The SOC 2 standard, developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, is the most widely recognized authoritative guidance that provides service organizations a uniform method for disclosing independently assessed information about the design and operation of internal controls.
HIPAA is designed to provide privacy standards to protect patients' medical records and other health information provided to health plans, doctors, hospitals and other health care providers.
“We have always had a strong security infrastructure, but to have an independent authority assess our compliance was important to us and we believe to our clients,” commented Matthew D. Livelsberger, President, who also personally has achieved the Certified HIPAA Privacy Security Expert Designation. “We do a lot of work in the healthcare space, in particular the payer space, where there is tremendous sensitivity to security and confidentiality. We wanted to be able to put those assurances out there, put a feather in our cap, and announce to the world that your data is safe with us. We have a culture of IT security here, and wanted to demonstrate that.”
