Greece’s Hellenic Parliament approved a bill Nov. 5 after a ministry proposal for a 10% tax on individuals’ gains from cryptoasset transfers, with publication in the Government Gazette still pending.

Greece’s Ministry of National Economy and Finance outlined the proposal in a draft-bill summary placed in public consultation Oct. 7. It described a 10% tax on individuals’ gains from cryptoasset transfers and said annual gains of €500 or less would be exempt.

The ministry said the proposal was intended to address a legislative gap and increase tax certainty. The summary describes the proposal; it does not establish the final rules for specific transaction types.

The Hellenic Parliament’s legislative record confirms the Nov. 5 vote and lists publication in the Government Gazette as the next pending step.
