A sinking off Bulgaria has added to concerns over Black Sea commercial shipping after a Greek container vessel was hit by three drones on Oct. 28, France 24 reported.

France 24 said the drones may have been Russian in origin. The outlet placed the incident amid growing concern over commercial shipping as the Russia-Ukraine conflict continues. It published its report on Oct. 30, two days after the sinking.

Reuters separately reported that at least seven cargo vessels had been attacked in waters off Romania and Bulgaria within a two-week period. The outlet said reports put the number of sailors killed or missing at roughly 30.

European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas previously said six attacks involving suspected Russian drones had occurred in 10 days. She accused the Kremlin of seeking to reduce Ukraine’s income from grain exports, linking the shipping threat to a source of revenue for the country, EconoTimes reported earlier.
