Former U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said Tuesday’s Nov. 3 midterm losses reflected voters’ rejection of President Donald Trump, calling the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement “completely dead” after Democrats won control of both chambers.

In an interview with ABC’s 7.30 program, Greene said Trump had urged voters to treat him as if he were on the ballot. “Last night was a referendum on Donald Trump and Donald Trump only,” she said.

Greene tied voter discontent to living costs, fuel prices, the war in Iran, the Jeffrey Epstein files and U.S. support for Israel. She also said Trump had strayed from “America First” and turned his back on his supporters.

The AP Voter Poll found that roughly 90% of respondents rated household costs as a major or crucial concern in their congressional vote. About two-thirds said Trump’s policies had contributed to inflation, according to the poll.

Trump congratulated Democrats on Fox News after the vote and said he did not view the result as a hit on him. EconoTimes previously covered the preliminary results and Trump’s response.

Greene said Republicans would need time to settle questions about party leadership and whether a third party might emerge.
